Gentamicin is a powerful antibiotic which can cause serious side effects including damage to nerve cells in our ears ototoxicity.

An animal model study examining the effects of Black Seed (Nigella Sativa)  extract, thymoquinone on gentamicin induced ototoxicity (hearing loss) has found that giving thymoquinone alongside gentamicin is protective against hearing loss.
