Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease in which there is  inflammation and damage to the nerves in the central nervous system. The disease is characterised by loss of the myelin (demylination) covering surrounding axons (nerves). MS is thought to be due to and abnormal immune response mediated by  T cell. 

A study was conducted which examined the effects of Black Seed Oil extract, Thymoquinone, on an experimental model of MS (experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis).

Amazingly the study found that result showed that Thymoquinone (extract of Black Seed Oil) due to its antioxidant effect is almost 90% preventive and 50% curative in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. 

This result supports the possibility of treating the human chronic relapsing multiple sclerosis with Black Seed Oil extract Thymoquinone.
